Tectonic Plates
|
Tectonic plates are large pieces of the Earth's crust that fit together and drift along the mantle.
The Earth is always changing. As plates move, the sides may be crushed or added to by new magma from the mantle. Plates can move horizontally or vertically. The movement of tectonic plates causes earthquakes, volcanoes, ocean trenches, and mountain range formations. |

Research Project
There are many different types of tectonic plate boundary movements.
Write about one specific type of tectonic plate boundary describing the types of plates that make up that boundary, how the plates move, and the effect of the movement of the plates at that boundary.
